The course provides delegates with an in-depth look into the Major Hazard Installation Report – going into detail looking at the calculations and reporting techniques. Delegates will get first hand experience finding out about techniques for, and performing Hazard Identification, Consequence Analysis, Frequency Analysis, Risk Summation and looking at the structure of MHI Reports and the commonly used textbooks and databases for technical information as well as an overview of the accreditation process followed to be an Approved Inspection Authority for MHIs.

The course provides delegates with an introduction to Major Hazard Installation (MHI) Risk Assessments, setting a regulatory context, when these Assessments are required, who can complete an MHI Assessment and how to tell if what you’ve been given is the real thing. The course also provides some insight into the calculations that go into MHI Assessments, what results are useful from those and how Risk Managers can use these Assessments to successfully manage Risk.

The course provides delegates with skills for compiling Emergency Response Plans (ERP) for their Major Hazard Installation (MHI) sites. Delegates will be able to use Risk Assessment reports to their advantage to shore up their ERPs, be able to identify the hazards to be considered in the ERP, the key regulatory requirements, layout of ERPs and techniques for testing and administering the ERP. Delegates will go into detail compiling actual scenarios based on examples.
